What is Meditation
Meditation is a state of being in which your active mind slows down and becomes still. Meditation is a practice which allows you to shut down the chatter of your mind. In doing so you are able to notice the subtle energies within you.
You don’t have to be a monk sitting alone on top of some mountain to be able to meditate. Anyone can develop this ancient practice.
Meditation is learning to listen like you have never listened before. You can look at the word listen and compare it to the word silent. They have the same letters. When you can learn to listen then you can feel the silence. When you can be silent you will hear at a new level of listening.
Why would you want to meditate?
Meditation has been known to reduce stress, energizes the body, slows the aging process, improves memory, is healing and has a peaceful calming effect on the body. While at the same time helps one find clarity of purpose benefiting your body with better health and balance.
Through meditation or the quieting of the mind closeness to God/Creator can be realized. You will be able to access the creative energy that is in each one of us, opening you to a more meaningful life experience.
Learning to meditate is essential for anyone who is interested in developing their psychic and intuitive awareness. When you can still the mind then you can slow down enough to hear what spirit is trying to tell you.
If you tell yourself that you cannot meditate you may be surprised to find out that you have already done so without even realizing it. Ask yourself if you have ever just zoned out or lost track of time? Or maybe you lost yourself becoming so absorbed in something that you forgot about everything around you? If so then you have probably gone into a light state of meditation.
Why not give meditation a try today and reap the benefits of this healthy practice.
